Chef Ty, First of all I would like to commend you on the current years achievements. I believe that you did a lot for the organization and I hope to see you continue on. My only question for you is what your position is on student members being able to vote for the board positions. I personally have just renewed my membership and moved up to culinarian status, moving up from a student membership. As a student member I, and many of my fellow students, felt that we should have had some sort of a vote. People have told us since age 18 that we can not complain about politics if we do not take the initiative and vote, however in the ACF we were not given that right. I simply hope you will consider attempting to make some changes, or at least perhaps start a student board?
Again Chef Ty, I and many chefs alike myself truly appreciate all you have done for the ACF, and good luck in this years board elections.
My question is in regards to educational research and access to the ACF member email list for these purposes.
As someone currently going through the dissertation phase of their doctoral degree with a topic regarding culinary education that requires access to certified chefs, what are your thoughts on providing access to member email lists (either free or for a nominal fee)for educational purposes (especially to fellow ACF members)?
Chef Michael T (Ty) is my Chef Mentor. I met Chef Ty in 1985 when I was hired at Caesars Palace as a Food Runner for the Cafe'Roma. My Mother (Marise Watson) was the Beverage Manager at the time. Michael T took me under his wing and trained me to be a future Sous Chef.There is not a better Chef to LEAD the ACF!!! VOTE for Chef Michael T (Ty)!!!
